Much is known about the impact of vocabulary instruction on reading skills, word knowledge, and reading comprehension. It means color coding is effective to improve students’ vocabulary ability.Keywords: Vocabulary, Color Coding Technique, CAR The result of the data showed: Mean of pretest was 63.00, mean of posttest was 82.00, The result also show the score of t-observed was higher than ttable (2.08 > 1.72). Thedata were collected from the result of pretest and posttets. The researcher employed qualitative research design and pre experimental pretest-posttest. The design of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Color Coding is a method that can be used in teaching vocabulary, one of the use of color is to identifying something, it can make the student easy in their learning vocabulary process. And this study aims to determine the benefits of Color Coding technique in improving the ability of English vocabulary. This research intended to students at seventh grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Cimahi. In learning English, vocabulary plays an important role, it means vocabulary is the basic one to mastering all English Skill. Therefore one of importance basic aspects and skills in learning English for students is to understand avariety of English vocabulary. Based on findings, short stories are recommended to use to develop students' vocabulary.Įnglish is a subject in Indonesian school that learned from junior high school until the universities. For them, short stories were interesting materials to use to develop vocabulary. The results showed that the students' perception towards the use of short story was positive. The data obtained were descriptively analyzed employing SPSS and Excel. The quantitative data was collected using a questionnaire, and the qualitative data was gathered through interviews. Employed a mixed methods research design, quantitative and qualitative data were collected from 30 sixth graders at Global Sevilla Primary School Jakarta. This study was conducted to investigate the perception of primary school students to develop vocabulary. Among the various literary genres, a short story is one of the most appropriate to use in a language classroom. Various studies have shown that using short stories in language teaching is very advantageous because it provides authentic material, cultural enrichment, language advancement, and personal growth. While children in Grade B were more developed, the activities were emphasized on recognizing word and learn to pronounce it clearly. Those activities are done based on the consideration that the activities done in Grade A were emphasized on their level of development such as imitating. In Grade A the dominant activity was Listen and Repeat with frequency 40% in one semester while in Grade B, Look and say was the dominant activity with frequency 30,76% in one semester. The findings showed that the teachers in five kindergartens in Indramayu taught vocabulary by presenting some activities such as listen and do, listen and repeat, modeling and demonstration, singing song, look and say, listen and identify, and question and answer. The participants in this study were five teachers in those five kindergartens. This study describes the activities done by teachers in five kindergartens in Indramayu. In accordance with the world of early childhood, children learn through play (learning through play) and interesting learning process for them (playing is learning).Thus, the teacher needs to provide activities that meet the students needs and present them in a proper way. To provide good education in early childhood the teacher has to understand their characteristics and know their needs according to their developmental level. This study is attempted to investigate activities in teaching English vocabulary to young learners. Childhood Education essentially aims at providing stimulation in all aspects of child development especially in language development.
